A surgical team at King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Buraydah successfully treated a 53-year-old woman suffering from severe bleeding caused by large rectal polyps. The patient was initially evaluated at the gastroenterology clinic, where an exploratory endoscopy, biopsy, and CT scan revealed the presence of a rectal polyp and ulcerations responsible for the recurrent bleeding.

The case was subsequently reviewed by the Colorectal Surgery Department; specialists assessed the situation and decided to perform a complete resection of the polyp.

A specialized surgical procedure was carried out using a combined technique involving TAMIS (Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery) and ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection). The resection was successful, effectively stopping the patient's recurrent bleeding, and she was subsequently discharged in good health.

The medical team performing the procedure included Dr. Abdullah Al-Noudal (Consultant Colorectal Surgeon), Dr. Nawaf Al-Mutairi (Consultant Interventional Gastroenterologist), Dr. Abdullah Al-Qaffari (Consultant Interventional Gastroenterologist), Dr. Abdullah Al-Otaibi (Consultant Anesthesiologist), and Dr. Ammar Abdullah (Consultant Anesthesiologist).
